This fine cotton saree is made in Venkatagiri. The jamdani chevrons and brilliant end panel are made with real zari. The jamdani technique, though famed in Bengal, has been an old tradition in Venkatagiri too. This Venkatagiri sarees perfectly captures weaving traditions of old Venkatgiri, known for their fine count, muslin cotton bodies woven with stripes and checks of zari. Only highly skilled weavers can achieve this feat of weaving the saree without the metallic zari cutting through the cotton threads.

These sarees have been created with Malavika Singh who remembers wearing these pure cotton Venkatagiri sarees as a young girl.
