Venkatgiri Checks 1 - Cotton With Zari Small Checks

This fine cotton saree is made in Venkatgiri. This saree perfectly captures weaving traditions of old Venkatgiri, known for their fine count, muslin cotton bodies woven with stripes and checks of zari. Only highly skilled weavers can achieve this feat of weaving the saree without the metallic zari cutting through the cotton threads.
These sarees have been created with Malavika Singh who remembers wearing these pure cotton, Venkatgiri sarees as a young girl.
